2011, A Year In Review

It was a good year for westchesterwinemakers.com, the official blog of the Westchester Amateur Winemakers Club….

In it’s second full year we are gaining popularity, expanding our demographics and geographical reach, improving our content and becoming an authority in the amateur winemakers blogosphere.

Here are some stats to look at for 2011:

Audience:

Visits: 19,435
Pageviews: 74,151
Bounce Rate: 1.93%
(That means that less than 2% of the people that come across our blog leave without performing an action or clicking on a link…. that’s pretty impressive.)

Demographics

We have been visited by people all over the world, The United States (of course), Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Russia, France, India and Italy to name a few (In total 108 Countries and/or Territories).

Traffic Sources

59% of our blog traffic came from Search Engines like Google, Yahoo! or Bing
10.64% were referrals from sites like Facebook, Twitter, juicegrape.com and winepress.us

Thank You to all of our loyal readers and contributors, we look forward to having another good year in 2012.

Salute

Thanks Anthony for the Report. People should know it was at your urging that I started this blog. Looking to the coming year I want to create a repository of information that can be used by Amateurs. One of my first topics is Variable Capacity Stainless Steel Tanks, Trials and Tribulations. I think this will be especially helpful since I am going through this adaptation in my own winemaking process.

We as a Club feel very lucky that we have been joined this year with two amazing resources.
Steve Gower AKA Crazy Run Ranch and Bzac AKA Zac. With the addition of these two gentlemen we are very lucky indeed.

One feature that Anthony is working on is allowing a person making a comment to post a picture. This will allow for a better exchange of information especially when there is no link available for the picture. I am waiting for him to launch this capability to begin the Tank Discussion.

Thanks to all who support this site. We reserve the right to ruffle feathers and will continue to allow all who post here the same opportunity.
